Varanasi and Ayodhya are two of the most sacred cities in India. One is the city of Lord Shiva on the banks of the Ganga, and the other is the birthplace of Lord Ram on the Saryu. Our Varanasi Ayodhya tour packages bring both cities together in a single, well-planned trip, with comfortable transport, local guidance and enough time for darshan, aarti and the quiet moments in between.
This page lists the packages we offer, explains how the two cities connect, and helps you choose the right plan for your group, time and budget.
Why Combine Varanasi and Ayodhya in One Trip?
The two cities are roughly 200 km apart, which is about 4 to 5 hours by road. That makes them one of the easiest pairings in Uttar Pradesh for pilgrims. You can spend your first days in Kashi with the ghats, the Ganga Aarti and Kashi Vishwanath, then travel to Ayodhya for the Ram Mandir and the temples around it.
Planning both cities together has clear benefits:
- One itinerary, one vehicle and one point of contact for the whole journey
- Less time lost in separate bookings, check-ins and transfers
- A better price than arranging two city trips separately
- A smoother pace, because the route is planned around darshan timings

What You See in Varanasi
Varanasi is one of the oldest living cities in the world, and a good itinerary balances temples, ghats and city life. A typical Varanasi plan includes:
- Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas
- Dashashwamedh Ghat and the evening Ganga Aarti
- A sunrise boat ride along the ghats
- Kaal Bhairav Mandir, the guardian temple of Kashi
- Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple
- Sarnath, where the Buddha gave his first sermon
Morning and evening are the best times to be on the ghats, so we arrange the day around the light and the aarti rather than a fixed checklist.
What You See in Ayodhya
Ayodhya is a calm, temple-filled city that sits on the Saryu. A typical visit includes:
- Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir
- Hanuman Garhi, reached by a flight of steps
- Kanak Bhawan, known for its ornate sanctum
- Nageshwarnath Temple, one of the oldest temples in the city
- Saryu Ghat and the evening aarti
Entry rules, darshan slots and security checks at Ayodhya can change, so we confirm the latest process before you travel and plan your timings around it. Carry a valid photo ID, and keep phones and large bags to a minimum near the temple.
How to Choose the Right Package
Start with the number of days you have, then add your group type and budget.
| Your situation | Best fit |
|---|---|
| Only a weekend | 2 days Varanasi or 2 days Ayodhya |
| Both cities, moderate pace | Varanasi plus Ayodhya, 3 to 4 days |
| Full pilgrimage circuit | 7 days with Prayagraj and Chitrakoot |
| Senior citizens or young children | Longer plan with a private car and fewer early starts |
If you are working out how to split time across the Sacred Triangle, our Varanasi, Ayodhya and Prayagraj itinerary shows a day-by-day structure. If budget is your main concern, compare the best Varanasi tour packages under ₹10,000.

- Local guide support for key temples and ghats

Best Time to Visit Varanasi and Ayodhya
October to March is the most comfortable season for both cities. Days are pleasant, and early mornings are cool. Summers are hot, so start early and rest in the afternoon. Festival periods such as Navratri, Ram Navami, Diwali and Dev Deepawali are especially beautiful but also very crowded, so book transport and stay well in advance.
Tips for a Smooth Trip
- Book at least two to three weeks ahead during festivals
- Start darshan early in the day to avoid long queues
- Wear light, modest clothing and shoes that are easy to remove
- Keep small cash for offerings, parking and local transport
- Leave extra time between cities, as road traffic can slow the drive
