Ayodhya

Ayodhya, on the banks of the Saryu river, is revered as the birthplace of Lord Rama and is the natural endpoint of the extended Kashi circuit, roughly 165 km from Prayagraj. It has re-emerged in recent years as one of India's most-visited pilgrimage destinations.

The town is compact and walkable, with most major sites within a short drive of one another, and the evening aarti at Saryu Ghat forms a natural close to the day.
